God, Your Transformer

TNIV Scripture for Monday, August 11, 2008 [2 Corinthians 3:15-18]

Even to this day when Moses is read, a veil covers their hearts. But whenever anyone turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away. Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. And we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate the Lord's glory, are being transformed into his image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.

Paul, the apostle to the Gentiles, wrote this second letter to the Corinthians around 55 AD. God veiled the hearts of the Jews keeping them from seeing Jesus as Messiah through the reading of Moses. However, as anyone, Jew or Gentile accepts the Lord, that veil is removed. With that veil removed, there is freedom and transformation available through God's Spirit as you keep looking to (contemplating) God's good reputation and at His character through the Word and prayer. The key is to let God's reflection shine from you as you put off your flesh and put on His character each day and all throughout the days. May you see yourself and God more clearly today through His Word!!!

God
Remover of the veils
Is the Spirit
Source of freedom in His Spirit
Good reputation and character
Worthy of your contemplation
Source of transformation and increasing glory for the unveiled
