The New Creation Has Come

TNIV Scripture for Monday, September 29, 2008 (2 Corinthians 5:16-20)

So from now on we regard no one from a worldly point of view. Though we once regarded Christ in this way, we do so no longer. Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here! All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting people's sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation. We are therefore Christ's ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ's behalf: Be reconciled to God.

When you accepted Christ as your Lord and Savior, your old world view no longer fit your new life. The way you looked at yourselves and others before is now wrong. Let Paul's words in 2 Corinthians 5:16-20 encourage you to walk in the truth of the new creation that you are by daily discarding your old ways through the word and prayer and living in the light of the new world view you have received. You have a new ministry, a new message and new job description to go along with your new life. God made this new life possible through Jesus. May you choose each day to learn how to walk in it in His strength.

God
Reconciled you to Himself through Christ
Gave you the ministry of reconciliation
Reconciles the world to Himself in Christ
Forgives sins
Gave you the message of reconciliation
Made you ambassadors for God's message
