Children of Abraham By Faith
TNIV Scripture for Tuesday, September 30, 2008 [Galatians 3:6-9]
So also Abraham 'believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness.' Understand, then, that those who have faith are children of Abraham. Scripture foresaw that God would justify the Gentiles by faith, and announced the gospel in advance to Abraham: 'All nations will be blessed through you.' So those who rely on faith are blessed along with Abraham, the man of faith.
Father Abraham became a believer way back in the 17th chapter of Genesis when he placed his faith in God's promise of children through whom eventually Jesus and salvation would come. Paul understood that Abraham's salvation by faith in Jesus was for all people from all nations, Gentiles or Jews. There are not two salvations...those who got saved before Christ and those who were saved after Christ all came to God through faith in Christ. There has always and only been one way to get saved. From Abraham to Christ to your story today there is a single thread that ties us all together and that is the person of Jesus and faith in Him. May you be blessed today along with your father Abraham, the man of faith.
