Jesus, Your Great Salvation [Hebrews 2]

1For this reason we must pay much closer attention to what we have heard, so that we do not drift away from it. 2For if the word spoken through angels proved unalterable, and every transgression and disobedience received a just penalty, 3how will we escape if we neglect so great a salvation? After it was at the first spoken through the Lord, it was confirmed to us by those who heard, 4God also testifying with them, both by signs and wonders and by various miracles and by gifts of the Holy Spirit according to His own will.

The writer of Hebrews wrote these words to encourage Jews who had become Christ followers and who subsequently had begun to face persecution for their new faith in Jesus. As a result, many of these Hebrew Christians reverted back to following their Jewish faith and neglected the great salvation given to them in Christ. The encouragement of the Hebrew writer is still valuable for you today no matter what your situation may be. Don't drift away from the truth, don't neglect your great salvation and remember that you deserved to die for your sins! May you appreciate and enjoy your great salvation today by God's amazing grace.
