God Is Faithful [1 Corinthians 10:11-13]

11These things happened to them as examples and were written down as warnings for us, on whom the fulfillment of the ages has come. 12So, if you think you are standing firm, be careful that you don't fall! 13No temptation has seized you except what is common to man. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it.

Tucked into Paul's description of the Israelites' great failure and a stern warning that "if you think you are standing firm, be careful that you don't fall!" is one of the most powerful verses in all of the Bible. 1 Corinthians 10:13 has sustained me through countless trials in which I felt overwhelmed and "beyond what I could bear." This verse is all about God's grace and His tender care in watching over you making sure that you have just the right amount of challenge to grow you as you run to Him for His wisdom, strength and guidance. He is faithful! If you have never memorized this verse and had a chance to hang onto it in your difficulties, I suggest you take the time to commit it to memory today. And then when the Spirit of God brings it to your mind in your trials, stand on the truth of that verse as you work out your problems with God.

May you experience the peace of believing that nothing that comes into your life is too hard for you and your faithful God!
