Establishing God's Peace
Our King Is Worthy [Revelation 5]
9And they sang a new song, saying, "Worthy are You to take the book and to break its seals; for You were slain, and purchased for God with Your blood men from every tribe and tongue and people and nation.10"You have made them to be a kingdom and priests to our God; and they will reign upon the earth."
The Apostle John actually saw these future things. He wasn't just a spectator sitting in a theater seat. He was a participant in the story who felt the agony of the search for someone to open the book. Then, he experienced the joy of finding the Lamb who was worthy to take the book and break its seals. Imagine how he felt when he saw the truth of what Jesus did laid out before Him. He saw the Lamb who was slain and it was Jesus who gave His blood in exchange for people all across this earth so that they...we... could become a kingdom and priests to our God. And we will reign upon the earth!
We praise You God for a glimpse into the future through John's eyes. Don't let us just be spectators watching the story unfold, but cause us to participate fully in Your story as we live out our lives on this earth. Make us ready to be Your Kingdom and Your priests.
