Do Not Lose Heart

TNIV Scripture for Tuesday, July 8, 2008 [2 Corinthians 4:16-18]
Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.

There is no way you can automatically keep focused on the eternal glory while living in this temporary fallen body in this temporary fallen world. Life can be scary, unpredictable and an emotional roller coaster. If that isn't enough, your body is slowly but surely wasting away! However, because of Jesus and what He did, you can spend time in God's Word and in prayer each day putting off your automatic temporal focus and putting on God's eternal focus remembering by God's power that your troubles are light, short lived and necessary to grow your trust in the unseen God. Do not lose heart, but be renewed in the wisdom, power and love of your awesome God each and every day.
