Establishing God's Peace
By Faith
TNIV Scripture for Monday, August 25, 2008 [Hebrews 11:24-27]
By faith Moses, when he had grown up, refused to be known as the son of Pharaoh's daughter. He chose to be mistreated along with the people of God rather than to enjoy the fleeting pleasures of sin. He regarded disgrace for the sake of Christ as of greater value than the treasures of Egypt, because he was looking ahead to his reward. By faith he left Egypt, not fearing the king's anger; he persevered because he saw him who is invisible.
Hebrews 11 is know as the
Hall of Faith
because it lists people of faith all through the ages and what they did because of their faith. Some of the people mentioned are well known like Moses. But some are just ordinary believers who trusted in their extraordinary God under extreme circumstances. Faith is powerful stuff and it comes from God. May you grow in your faith so that you, too, may be a powerful saint.
