You Can't, But He Can

TNIV Scripture for Monday, September 15, 2008 [Ephesians 4:1-6]

As a prisoner for the Lord, then, I urge you to live a life worthy of the calling you have received. Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love. Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace. There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called to one hope when you were called; one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all.

There is only one way to "live a life worthy of the calling you have received." It happens every time you put off your ability to live godly and put on His ability to be "completely humble and gentle...patient, bearing with one another in love..." Living the Christian life in your own strength is impossible because God's standard is too high and your flesh is too weak. May you be like Paul and boast in your weaknesses because that is where Christ will be strong in you as you invite Him into your daily life. You can't, but He can!

God
One Spirit
One God
One Father of all
He is over all
He is through all
He is in all
