Last Chance [Revelation 14]

6And I saw another angel flying in midheaven, having an eternal gospel to preach to those who live on the earth, and to every nation and tribe and tongue and people;7and he said with a loud voice, "Fear God, and give Him glory, because the hour of His judgment has come; worship Him who made the heaven and the earth and sea and springs of waters."

One thing I have learned about God is that He is the God of many opportunities. Throughout the Bible, He warned people over and over about His coming judgment. Some listened and some didn't, but He always gave people many many chances to trust Him. Here at the end of the story with the final judgment at hand, God will send out an angel armed with the gospel message as a last chance for men to accept Jesus and be saved. This angel will speak the gospel loudly to all those who live one the earth. If I saw an angel flying by giving this message, I think that would have an impact on me!

We praise You, God, that you are a God of many chances and that in Your inevitable judgment, you have great compassion and mercy for the people of earth. Cause us to have that same compassion and mercy for those around us that by Your grace we would spread the message of the gospel to many.
